How to upgrade or downgrade your memory / RAM

If you have an existing VPS and would like to upgrade resources, you can do so by following these instructions:

1. Login to the https://portal.controlmyvps.com.au using your email address and password

2. Click on 'Virtual Machines'

3. Click on 'Manage' next to the machine you wish to modify.

4. Click on the 'Modify' tab

5. Click on 'Upgrade/Downgrade Options'

6. Here you can add extra RAM, CPU Cores, Bandwidth and Disk Space. You can also select a different operating system, however, for the new operating system to take affect you must reprovision your VPS (see: https://www.vpsblocks.com.au/support/Knowledgebase/Article/View/85/0/how-to-reprovision--reinstall--setup-your-vps-again )

7. On the following screen you can also select to schedule the upgrade (Choose 'Now' to have it occur immediately).

Note that when you upgrade CPU, RAM or Disk Space upon receiving payment your server will automatically be shutdown, the resources modified and restarted at the time you scheduled.

To order SPAM filtering

1. Go to https://portal.controlmyvps.com.au

2. Login using your email address and password

3. Click on the 'New Orders' tab

4. Click on 'Order SPAM Filtering'

5. Enter the domain you wish to filter SPAM for, plus and domian aliases separated by a comma.

6. Once you make payment you will be sent an email with login details to the SPAM Experts control panel.

All our Virtual Private Servers include 1 IP address. If you require more than one IP you can purchase one through the control panel.

For cPanel and web hosting users, all IP address requests must be justified with a legitimate reason. SEO is not a legitimate reason, Google rankings do NOT in anyway take into account or know if you have a dedicated or shared IP. cPanel also fully supports SNI which enables you to host multiple SSL enabled websites on a shared IP address (the same as normal shared hosting), so SSL is also no longer a valid reason for extra IP addresses in a cPanel environment.

To order a new IP address

1. Go to https://portal.controlmyvps.com.au

2. Login using your email address and password

3. Click on the 'Virtual Servers' on the left hand side

4. Click on 'Manage' next to the VPS in question

5. Click on 'Addons' -> 'Order IP Address'

6. Click 'Order Now' next to '1 x IP Address'.

You can order multiple IP addresses for a single VPS, but each will need to be placed as a separate order using the process above. IP addresses are automatically provisioned and you will be informed within a few minutes of your new IP address.

Once you receive the new IP you will have to add it to your VPS.

With WHM/cPanel VPSs this is done in WHM under the IP Functions option.

For Windows this is done in the Network Adapter properties.

For CentOS you need to create a new file for your current network adapter e.g.

To register a new domain

1. Go to https://portal.controlmyvps.com.au

2. Login using your email address and password

3. Click on 'Domains'

4. Click on 'Register Domain'

5. Fill out the name you would like and check any extensions you are interested in.

6. Click 'Lookup'

7. Once you find a domain that suits and is available, select it using the checkbox beside the domain name, and click on 'Order Now'.

8. Complete the process to place the order.

9. Once your domain has been successfully ordered you can edit the DNS record so that it points to your VPS with us. To do this see 'Editing DNS Records'

As you have just registered your domain it usually takes 24-48 hours before it becomes visible and starts resolving correctly. Once it does it will now point to your existing VPS.
