Upgrading or Downgrading your cPanel License Limit

Written by: on 01 August 2022 12:24 PM 01 August 2022 12:24 PM

Step-by-step tutorial on how to upgrade or downgrade your cPanel account limit.

Note pricing for cPanel licenses can be found on our price list page at: https://www.vpsblocks.com.au/support/Knowledgebase/Article/View/124/0/price-list-for-optional-services

Portal Login Explained

If you login to the portal website using your email address and account level password you can administer all your VPSs, change account details, place new orders etc.

If you login to the portal website using your VPS username and VPS password you will only have access to manage a single VPS, no mention of VPSBlocks is made, and no ability to modify your account or order services.

How to upgrade your cPanel account limit

If you have an existing cPanel VPS and would like to upgrade or downgrade the account limit, you can do so by following these instructions:

1. Login to the https://portal.controlmyvps.com.au using your email address and password

2. Click on 'Virtual Machines'

3. Click on 'Manage' next to the machine you wish to modify.

4. Click on the 'Modify' tab

5. Click on 'Upgrade/Downgrade Options'

6. Here you can add change the option 'cPanel Licensing' to a new configuration. Note that this is processed manually by our staff so there may be a short wait for the account limit to be increased. You cannot set the account limit below the actual number of accounts currently on your cPanel server. You will be charged pro-rata for any change.

7. As this change does not require a reboot on the following screen you should select 'Now' when asked about scheduling the upgrade (unless you are also changing resources such as RAM, CPU, or NVME/Flash Disk which will require a reboot).

Note that when you upgrade CPU, RAM or Disk Space upon receiving payment your server will automatically be shutdown, the resources modified and restarted at the time you scheduled.
